Sugar Cookie Recipe

Cookies, everyone loves them, and there’s nothing better than having your own freshly made ones. Here is a recipe I recommend to anyone: a simple but delicious sugar cookie!
1 ½ cups of all-purpose flour
⅛ tsp baking soda
⅛ tsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt
1 large egg
½ tsp vanilla extract
8 tbsp (1 stick) butter COLD
1 Medium bowl
1 Small bowl
1-2 cookie sheets
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and vanilla.
Add the sugar to the food processor and lock it into place, turn it on until the sugar is finely ground.
Slice the chilled butter into small pieces and place them into the food processor with the sugar. Blend until smooth.
Add the egg mixture to the food processor and blend.
Then, add the flour mixture and blend until no dry flour is visible and the mixture is doughy.
Remove the dough and place it on a large sheet of parchment paper.
Roll the dough with a rolling pin into a 14 by 10-inch oval.
Use a cookie cutter to cut the dough into the desired shapes.
Remove the extra dough and reroll it, then repeat until no dough is left.
Slide the parchment paper onto a cookie rack and place it in the fridge for 30 minutes.
When the dough chills, adjust the oven rack to the middle position and preheat the oven to 300°F.
Bake for 18 to 22 minutes (20 minutes usually works well).
Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before transferring them to the cooling rack.
Let cookies cool before icing them.
1 ⅓ cups powdered sugar
2 tbsp milk
1 tbsp softened cream cheese
A few drops of food coloring (If desired)
Soften cream cheese
Add milk, cream cheese, and powdered sugar into a bowl and stir.
Once smooth add food coloring if desired.
Ice the cookies with a knife or a spatula.
