New Composting Bins

Environmental club is excited to implement the use of composting bins here at Wheaton North! The club’s composting plans started 4 years ago, and now their hard work is becoming a reality. The club leaders shared that, “Over the years we have taken small steps and this year we raised enough money to buy the composting bins and can now set them up using some of the plans and work from previous years! It has been a collaborative effort of organization with our club leaders, club members, and administration!” Coming up in the next few weeks, the bins will be placed in the commons where students will be able throw away food scraps and other compostable items. Through the use of composting bins, the nutrients in the food we throw away will be recycled instead of going into a landfill. We should all utilize the bins because it is an easy and effective way to reduce waste in our daily lives!
