Halloween Candy Drive

By: Katie Payne

Don’t know what to do with your extra Halloween candy? Want to do something good and lasting with it? Every year, Americans waste 400 million dollars on Halloween candy that will never be eaten. This year, make a change by donating your extra candy to Treats for Troops, a program to give extra Halloween candy to people in the armed forces conducted by Soldiers’ Angels. A candy drive will be hosted by the Red Cross Club and Students Supporting Our Military throughout the week of November 1. Be on the lookout for donation bins where you can give away your extra candy and make a soldier’s day. If you have comments or questions, reach out to Ms. Gosling or Luci Bermel for more details.
