Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars: Bake-Along edition

Here is a fun recipe to spice up basic chocolate chip cookies. These cookie bars are great for any season and they don’t take too much time to make.

The ingredients you need to bake the chocolate chip cookie bars:

  • 2 cups and 2 teaspoons all-purpose flour

  • ½ teaspoon of kosher salt

  • ½ teaspoons of baking soda

  • 12 tablespoons butter, softened and at room temperature

  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar

  • ½ cup sugar

  • 1 egg

  • 1 egg yolk

  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract

  • 2 cups of chocolate chips

To begin, preheat your oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a deep pan with aluminum foil, so that it hangs over the edges. In a bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, and salt.

In another bowl mix together the butter, brown sugar, and sugar. Mix in the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract. Then add the wet mixture into the dry mixture slowly and add in the chocolate chips.

Next, put the final mixture into the pan. You can add extra chocolate chips if you want. Bake for 23 minutes.

And there you have it: easy-to-make, chewy cookie bars!
