Book Review: Loki: Where Mischief Lies
By: Haley Troha
Loki: Where Mischief Lies, by Mackenzi Lee, is a fabulous new perspective on the Marvel comics villain. Starting in the god of mischief’s childhood, the book combines fantasy and historical fiction elements to create an earlier chapter of Loki’s life. When his only friend is banished to Earth for an accident of Loki’s creation, he slips further into the shadow of his brother Thor, and is often overlooked by their father. When another mistake puts him out of Odin’s good graces, Loki is assigned the odious task of dealing with a mystery on Midgard. This novel is an amazing stand alone, but even better if you enjoyed the Marvel comics, or the movies. It definitely does the characters justice, and I would recommend it to anyone who is a fan of Marvel’s most misunderstood villain.
